About Safarí

Meet Seán your guide.
Seán has a background in natural history having studied botany and zoology at third level (B.Sc., M.Sc.), is from the area and is an irish speaker.

Safarí with a snail as the accent over the 'i' hints at theme of Seán's nature walks where the small and inconspicuous are celebrated. The accent over the 'i' also indicates the gaeltacht base and importance of language where the local human aspect of the nature walks is not forgotten.
The Safarí concept is one of accessible easy paced walks of no more than 1 to 2 hours duration on public walkways.

The walks are held on the bog, on the beach or along boreens (country lanes) all of which are to be found within a short walking distance from the main road heading west.

The wish of Safarí is to bring to life the little things that people may not notice everyday or that people take for granted as they travel outdoors. As we whiz by in our cars we miss out on so much.
